This and that

We've been having some nice weather of late even if it has been some what muggy, seems more like our normal summer weather. While the weather has been fine I spent the weekend pottering around in dad's shed. I've some new lesson projects I want to share and hopefully will have them up soon.

I also spent the weekend working up some of my sketchy sketch book drawings into embroidery. I've had these pages for a long time and just started to do something with them. Some ideas are spurred from the simplest of sketches to something larger. I've  also did catch up on my rag rug and other things I have in the ufo project pile I want to finish. More on that too.

There was some attempt to use up the fading roses out in the garden. I have a rose water and hand milled rose water soap recipe I'll share this week too.
It wasn't all fun and games over the weekend there was plenty of washing, laundry, cleaning, bed making, and such to do.
I've also had my fifth driving lesson today and feel like I'm doing alright with it.

I hope everyone is having a good day or evening wherever you are.

  1. Sounds like you had a busy and productive weekend Shiralee. It does feel summery still. I am waiting for the weather to cool a bit before I start sowing some vegies. I hope you have a lovely week.

    1. Barb,
The market craft making sounds like a lot of fun. I like to browse through market stalls more than shops.

  3. It's still hit here but I was silly enough to plant out my veg seedlings last week. I have been kept very busy nursing them through this last burst of summer. So looking forward to cooler weather. Congratulations on taking the initiative to get your licence. Five lessons down! Well done you.

  4. It has been warm and muggy, Shiralee. I have lots of seedlings to plant out but put it off because it is so hot and dry. No rain on the horizon either as far as I know.

    1. Nanna Chel,
Definitely not a good time to be out side. They say there's a cyclone up the top end but I doubt we will get much rain out of it. I think we need a good rain to bring in cooler weather.
