Heart Felt

It has been a while since I last posted. My bloggy break gave me a chance to focus on a few things I wanted to accomplish. I had successes in other areas more than some.

I wanted to focus on dieting. That didn't happen but more baking did happen.

I started to play with my paper stash and did a very deep clean of all my stash. A long over due de-cluttering I think.

I had one major success!  I finally got my Learner Licence to drive. 46 years old and I'm learning to drive a car. Late bloomer no? I've had three lessons and yes there's been a few times I ran up the gutter going around corners. Ah well, it's a start. I have my fourth lesson today.

I'm back to walking Mister Simba. Although we have some rain via a cyclone which put a halt to too much walking. I don't think Mister Simba minded at all.

I also attended the Simple Living Toowoomba rag rug class. There were such a big turn out it was fabulous. Margy gave a good demo and we had some excellent helpers through out the class. I've still yet to finish my rug, but will show it when I am done. It's very easy and worth having a go.

I hope everyone is having a good day or evening where ever they are.

  1. Good to see you back, Shiralee. Looking forward to seeing your rag rug. I am trying to get better at it so I can do a tutorial on my blog as requested by some of my readers. :-)

    1. Phil,
You'll be surprised at how easy the rag rug making is. Nanna Chel said she's going to put a tutorial up to show how easy. And thanks about the L's I'm surprised I actually past the test.

  3. Good on you for getting your L plates. My mother was in her 40's when she got her licence. And many of us have done some strange things when learning to drive. I remember once my driving instructor told me to drop into a lower gear (I was learning to drive an automatic). I pulled on the handbrake as well, as I thought we were practicing what to do if the brakes failed! I certainly woke up that driving instructor.

    1. Thank you Sherri.
After three lessons I know when I've done something eyebrow raising as my instructor stops talking. She's a good instructor so far. I'm pretty sure I've scared a few drivers behind me too. I'm looking forward to finally learning how to drive.

  4. Hi Teri,
Mister Simba knows he's cute and he's spoilt by all the family because of it. He's good company though. I also think everyone should have a go at the rug making because it is so easy. It doesn't have to be a rug. Could be a placemat or a bowl. I like the versatility of the idea.
